Who we are?

We are an association of IP professionals specialising in enabling innovators protect their IP and enabling creators of intellectual property to conceptualise, present and protect their creations. We have on-board patent attorneys, technologists and a motley of patent specialists representing a combined experience of over 40 years. Each project we undertake involves collaborative involvement of one or more of our associates to effectuate an end-product that is representative of the best quality. Besides, we take pride in having on-board subject specific advisors, who advise us on technological aspects on a case to case basis. We have been catering to innovators, start-ups, academic institutions in protecting intellectual property.

We rely upon the expertise of some of the most experienced professionals in their field. While the members of the core team had been pursuing their independent professions for quite some time, they realized the need in the Indian market for a service that effectively amalgamates technical and legal know-how so as to provide innovators with most-effective representation of their innovations. And so was Lex Eruditus born. The core team has experience of working with some of the biggest corporations in the field of technology and IP.

Shifaly Sharma

Founder

Shifaly is a techno-legal professional with over 20 years of experience in the field of technical know-how dissemination and innovation protection. Shifaly holds an M.Tech degree in Information Technology, a B. Tech degree in Electronics Engineering and in addition an LL.B degree giving her well rounded academic and professional skills to guide innovators and creators to protect their innovations and/or creations. In her role as the Head of IP in her previous organisation, Shifaly guided several innovators in protecting their innovative concepts by undertaking activities like ideation, finalization of the concept, drafting of the patent application, filing the patent application at the patent office to seek protection and guiding the innovators to answer queries of the patent office during examination for securing grant of patent on the application.

Having opened up her own IP consultancy now, Shifaly works with independent innovators, start-ups, companies, designers. authors and various other creators of intellectual property to help them secure their rights in the firm of patents, registered designs, trademarks and copyrights. Shifaly has a team of seasoned professionals working with her to ensure a quality work product that truly reflects the strength of the innovation/creation. Together with her team, Shifaly's IP Consultancy has been able to register close to a 95% success rate in the matters handled across various jurisdictions, such as Kolkata, Chennai, Delhi and Mumbai. Besides working on securing IP rights, Shifaly and her team has also handled contentious matters, including design cancellations .

Our Members

Shakti Arora

Shakti earned a Master’s degree in Science from G B Pant University and currently pursuing PhD on Plant Biochemistry. She is a registered Indian Patent Agent and a lawyer. Shakti has more than ten years of experience in different domains of IPR including Patents, Designs, Copyrights and Plant Variety protection in India. She primarily advises clients for drafting of Patent applications and handling office actions.

Nidhi Sharma

Nidhi has master’s degree in Computer Applications as well as Physics. She also has a law degree (LLB). Nidhi is a registered Indian Patent Agent with specialization in the fields of telecommunication, software; ICT, electronics, Physics and medical devices. She has vast experience in the intellectual Property Rights domain including Patent prosecution, Patent Drafting, Patent Searching, Patent Opposition and Appeals. She also provides opinions on patent validity and infringement. In addition, she has a significant experience in handling Designs and Copyrights applications.

Advocate Amita Sharma

Amita’s primary areas of expertise are consumer protection laws, labour laws and cyber laws. She has experience of 14 years in the legal industry handling consumer, labour and cyber law matters across various forums and courts. Amita successfully dealt with various matters from different subjects including automobile, vehicles, healthcare, employer, employee, labor and victims of cyber crime, Amita has been practicing in these areas since she completed her law graduation from Madhya Pradesh University focusing mainly on small business and individual customers. Working closely with authorities across various forums and courts gave her a wide range of practical capabilities that helped to meet the needs appropriately. Amita believes in providing faster resolution saving the time and cost during the prosecution.

Lourembam Beloni Devi

Beloni holds a Doctorate degree in VLSI and is our subject domain expert in the field of Semiconductor technology and electronics designs. Beloni is comfortable in handling all types of innovations in the field of electronics and is our go to person for helping clients looking to protect their inventions solving complex problems with the aid of advanced electronics, Beloni is an accomplished author of numerous technical papers in the field of semiconductor technology. In her previous engagements spanning around 10 years, Beloni has worn several hats including that of a design engineer at LSI Technologies and an academician.

Conceptualisation

We collaborate with creators, R&D institutes, and academic institutions to help them shape their ideas to a realistic form capable of being protected. We help them to look beyond the horizon and move the ideas from the idea factory to the drawing board.

Articulation

We help create a tangible representation of creator’s conceptions for ensuring the best possible coverage. We ensure that we spend hours discussing with the creators so as to cover even the minutest details conceived by the creator.

Representation

We facilitate the patent owners/creators to file their applications at the IP Office, comply with all statutory requirements in a timely manner, prosecute the applications leading to grant.

Enforcement

We advise IP owners/creators regarding how to enforce their rights in the best possible manners. We provide an in-depth analysis of infringement aspects such as detailed claim-charts so as to enable patent owners to strategise effectively against any infringement.
